Hi, thanks for visiting my website. I was born and raised in a small town in the Midlands, UK. I have always been creative, and passionate about the world around me, and I thoroughly enjoy the creative adventure that Photography has brought to me. I grew up in awe of how images were captured and developed by my brothers in a make-shift darkroom in the bathroom. There were nine of us in that house with one bathroom so you can imagine the chaos if films were being developed ! Seeing the black and white images hanging on string in the glow of a red light was magical. I loved and studied art in my early years and continued through design, tailoring and silversmithing as a stay-at-home Mum. I only possessed a small Kodak instamatic camera, and left others to take 'real' pictures, with the odd occasion helping them develop both mono and colour film now in a cupboard under the stairs!
A lifetime later I became an Engineer with a First Class degree in Materials Science and Engineering (it's a very long story). I am still Principal Engineer - Coatings Technology in a multi national company, and I did thankfully get around to buying a DSLR several years ago to re-kindle my love of capturing memories and places when I wasn't busy working. The continuous spark for me has been my awe of this amazing world we live in and my creative nature. As I grow older I hope to take more advantage of my creativity and love of photography. The older we get, the more we appreciate precious moments and memories, so every opportunity I get to capture those I am grateful.
